Position Overview & Specifications

The nursery nurse works as part of the Neonatal unit under the supervision of registered nurses and -:

Participates in the delivery of care
Contributes towards the department organisation
Supports registered nurses in the provision of a safe and caring environment for babies and their families

Ensure a welcoming, caring and safe environment is provided for the patient and their families.

To support Family Intergrated Care on The Neonatal Unit
To assist and support in delivering care to infants and their carers in the transitional care and special care nurseries.
demonstrates a level of skill and understanding which enables them to undertake specific tasks delegated by the nurse in charge and in accordance with relevant guidelines, policies and procedures.
Undertake both routine and specially identified tasks for which they have been trained and assessed as competent.
